Hillsborough County Clerk's Office

If you have received a ticket, you can now choose to handle it online as long as your ticket was issued within the last 30 days and is a payable offense that doesn’t require a court date or proof of payment. Examples of offenses where the online system can be used to pay the fine include: speeding, running a red light or careless driving. If you would prefer to handle your citation in person, you can visit one of the county clerk office locations. Since Hillsborough county encompasses several cities and is the fourth most populous county in Florida, there are several clerk office locations ranging from downtown Tampa, Brandon, Ruskin and Plant City that can assist you.

Regardless of whether you choose to handle your ticket at the clerk’s office or online, most infractions offer drivers the opportunity attend traffic school to avoid points from being assessed on their license. However, drivers who have a commercial driver’s license (indicated by Class A, B or C) and drivers that are cited with criminal violations including driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage or knowingly driving with a suspended license will not be eligible. Learn more about traffic school eligibility requirements.
